Practitioners Use Creative Marketing to Lure Prospects
Real estate professionals have had to kick their marketing up
a notch since the housing sector has shifted from a boom to a
down cycle.
"These days, there is a lot more to this business than just
sticking a sign in the yard," says Dallas agent Lydia Player,
who recently rented out a movie theater and held a private
screening of the latest Harry Potter movie to attract possible
clients. The event allowed her to network while showcasing her
property listings, which were shown as advertisements prior to
the start of the film.

Wrapping up the sale
A gift at the closing table will help shape positive
perceptions of you.
BY MICHAEL ANTONIAK
It's always nice to receive an unexpected token of
appreciation.
A closing gift can be the final pleasing note buyers remember
about you, even if there was discord during the transaction.
Since these gifts are rarely anticipated, giving them is
entirely a matter of personal choice. Some practitioners
simply opt not to, maintaining that the quality of their
service amply demonstrates their appreciation of the buyer.

10
Steps to Painless Listing Appointments
1. Smile.
Put on your friendly face, even if you're feeling grouchy that
day.
2. Pay the home owners a compliment.
"The kids are cute." "Nice flowers."
3. Take them to the kitchen table.
Strangers go to the living room; friends go to the kitchen.
4. Break the ice with chitchat.
Use the casual conversation to learn more about the prospects'
personality and communication style.
5. Let the prospects warm up to you as a person.
If they say, "We're not going to list today," say, "No
problem." You'll put them at ease if you promise not to ask
for the listing without their permission, and then make a
confident presentation.
